Association of British Health Industries

The British Association of British Health-Care Industries (ABHI) published in summer 2002 [682 KB] an article on the tendency of product identification
The Magazine of the Association of British Health-Care Industries hosts a report about a two days workshop held at EUCOMED in June 2004. Christian Hay had the opportunity to present the propositions of EAN International (now, GS1) regarding product identification and automatic datacapture. He is the author of the report. Clinicum

Clinicum is a magazine published in the German part of Switzerland. For the first time, in autumn 2009, the magazine has been published in French.
We authored an editorial [1'077 KB] as well as an interview [2'103 KB] of Professor Christian Lovis (University of Geneva). Both texts are written in French.
In the June 2011 edition, we authored a new editorial [1'804 KB] (in French).




Competence

Competence is the magazine for the Swiss Hospital community. Christian Hay published a short article [114 KB] (in French and German) describing how from a logistics perspectve, the GS1 system is progressively used for risk management in the care facilities. The title indicates already that the use of logistics in healthcare is growing (medication errors).

E-Hospital

E-Hospital [226 KB] is the magazine published by the European Association of Hospital Managers.




 
In its May/June 2004 edition, an article [226 KB] describes the collaboration between Hospitals and Suppliers in traceability matters
At the 6th conference of GS1 Healthcare in Berlin, hospitals had their say 2007 [211 KB]



European Journal of Hospital Pharmacists

An article [684 KB] has been published in 2002 on the status and challenges about identification and traceability, by using barcodes or RFID tags in the hospital pharmacy. An introductory article to other contributions published in the EJHP about traceability.
Various articles have been published in the July 2004 issue with the subjects of identification, traceability and bar codes. Christian Hay wrote an article [55 KB] on these subjects; and Prof. Arnold Vulto made an introduction [43 KB] in this issue. Frank Meuleman reports [72 KB] on automatic identification and a better distribution of medication in hospitals.
In September 2008, EJHP published an Editorial [187 KB] on "Global Identification Standards: from Logistics to Risk Management"



 

GS1 Network

We have published several articles in the GS1 Switzerland magazine "Network". All are written in French and target the Healthcare Industry audience.

Workshops on traceability

Medinorma Sarl organised a workshop in german for GS1 in September 2003 [473 KB] . Specialists in the Healthcare industry discussed their experiences with the GS1 system in their units as well as trends and developments. They also had the opportunity to ask questions in an interactive way. The report on this event can be read here (385 KB) [385 KB] .

We organised another workshop in french in November 2004 for hospitals and their suppliers on the subject of traceability. This successful workshop has been sponsered by Sanofi-Aventis Switzerland SA and the report on the event is here 579 KB. [578 KB]




GSASA Journal

GSASA is the Swiss Hospital Pharmacists association. It Published regularly a Journal.
We published an interview [466 KB] in the May 2011 edition




Hospital Pharmacy Europe

In the issue No 14 of July 2004, an article [671 KB] about legislative aspects on barcoding
In the issue July-August 2008, an article [1'214 KB] on barcoding and traceability has been published in collaboration with Prof. Christian Lovis (University Hospital Geneva - HUG)



 

International Hospital Management

The 2003 Yearbook of the International Hospital Federation shows an article [636 KB] in which use of the EAN.UCC System (now GS1 System) in hospitals and trends for a more extensive implementation are commented.

SANC News

SANC news is the Magazine of GS1 Singapore (before EAN Singapore). In its January 2004 edition, a report [89 KB] is published about a Healthcare Expert Forum. Christian Hay had the opportunity to share experiences with local responsibles from Hospitals and Authorities.




Swiss Medical Informatics

Sweden

Reduction of medication errors is also a priority in Sweden. A journalist of the swedish GS1 magazine [65 KB] (2006) interviewed Christian Hay in this respect.
