The HUG (University Hospitals of Geneva) and the HCV (the Hospices Cantonaux Vaudois, the largest hospital in this group is the CHUV in Lausanne) have asekd Medinorma to deliver a business plan about the choice and implementation of a unique identification system in the hospital groups.
The report had also to explain the benefits of the recommended choice, specially in the fields of cost containment and traceability.

The report has been delivered in Summer 2003. The Hospital Managements agreed on the recommendations until turn of the year.
During the first half year 2004, an interdisciplinary committee has been built to achieve the recommendations of the business plan. The Institut for the Management of Logistics of the Swiss Federal Institute for Technology has been asked to lead the project. Medinorma is foreseen for expertise in concrete projects.
