Each datacapture made whilst preparation and delivery of the the products is made with registration of the precise time. We have developed a temporary search function (the search possibilities will be expanded at the end of the pilot). It is now possible to find the "time table" of each transport unit or product or set. For clean or dirty deliveries, the system answers the following questions : when was the product ready for delivery; when did the logistic staff take the product / transport unit; when was it delivered at its destination (which destination ?). A delivery error for a single product / set can be identified aterwoods if the product / set had been placed in the wrong case.
The pilot phase has been developed without use of internal communication infrastructure of the hospital. For this reason, the database is only updated twice a day. the concept is later to make use of intranet facilities in the hospital to update the database online, and gain full accuracy.
